EURIS responds to Imperial Measures Consultation
Share
EURIS sees no benefit to changing from the current measurement system and indeed any change would be disruptive, requiring resources, time, expense and potentially causing confusion and uncertainty. This comes during a period where businesses are already facing significant challenges such as increased energy costs, supply chain shortages and cost increases, labour shortages, wage pressures and conversion to UKCA marking.
Therefore, EURIS strongly recommends to maintain the current measurement system in order to reduce any further uncertainty or regulatory burden.
Any fundamental changes to the national measurement system in the UK would risk additional burden of duplicating calibration, testing, certification and declaration – adding cost and delay without any benefit to the manufacturer or customer.
