Following the Secretary of State for Exiting the EU comments at a press conference in Brussels this morning, the EURIS Task Force, an advisory body representing industrial product suppliers, welcomes his call for the European Council to give the EU’s chief negotiator, Michel Barnier, the means to broaden negotiations onto the future relationship.

EURIS Chairman Dr Howard Porter said, “Trade is a key driver of growth and prosperity and has always been a crucial part of the UK and world economy.  Negotiating new trading arrangements between the EU and UK will be an exceptional challenge which is why the EURIS Task Force supports the Government’s call to enable negotiations on a future trade deal to start as soon as possible. EURIS believes this will be to the benefit of both the UK and the EU”.
