The EURIS Task Force has welcomed the publication of the UK Government’s technical note on International Agreements during the Implementation Period for providing greater clarity on the Government’s intentions for this time-period.

Dr Howard Porter, EURIS Chair, said, “EURIS member associations and their members are of the view that our industries need as much certainty on all areas of their business related to the European Union and to trade in general. As such we would support the continuation of all aspects of our current relationships as part of the European Union during the Implementation Period”.

Steve Brambley, EURIS Vice-Chair, added, “Continuation of all aspects of the current UK-EU relationships during the Implementation Period would add certainty for an extended period and ensure that UK businesses can trade on the same terms during transition as before. This provides the key requirement of a single change in trading structures and gives all businesses in our industry significantly more time to develop their business practices to meet the demands of the negotiated arrangements between the UK and the EU”.
