EURIS responds to CBAM consultation

EURIS has responded to the consultation on the introduction of a UK carbon border adjustment mechanism.
From speaking to our members, there is a clear concern that if the introduction of a UK carbon border adjustment mechanism is not managed carefully, UK based companies that are part of a global group, may be disadvantaged by the increased cost of raw materials and components. This could cause some to decide to move manufacturing out of the UK and import finished goods rather than add the value in the UK. We would urge the government to listen to industry feedback about how to best introduce CBAM in order to avoid this for the benefit of UK plc.
